Vieux Salins
The saltpans (Salins des Pasquiers and Vieux Salins) around the town of Hyères, on the Mediterranean French coast, are a very attractive area for migrants, particularly in Spring; it is thus a very good spot for oriental species such as Marsh Sandpiper, Broad-billed Sandpiper, Crakes, Red-throated Pipit, Eastern sub-species of Yellow Wagtail, ...
But the area is interesting all year round, notably in Winter when hundreds of Greater Flamingoes stay here to feed on the rich waters of the Etang des Pesquiers.
